Paquetá Island is a bucolic, "car free" and historical place in the middle of Guanabara Bay. Our tour starts at the ferry boat station where we'll take a 50 minutes ride to this magical place.
What we'll do
In the morning time, we will walk about some of its main locations on the south side of the island (smaller side), stopping for historical information, pictures and sight seeing. By 01:00 pm, we will stop to have a quick Brazilian lunch. Afterwards we will rent bikes to see the other side of the island, stopping for more photos and information along the way.
What We'll Provide
- Brazilian Lunch (usually have rice and beans)
- Bike rental for approximately 2 hours
What Guests Should Bring
- Water
- Snack
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Bug Repellent
- Comfortable Shoes/Clothing
What Guests Should Know
We are going to be walking and biking a whole lot. To be honest, it will be around 8km/ 5mi or more. Be prepared. Have comfortable shoes and clothing, lots of water and snacks for that extra energy boost. Bring a great smile and nice spirit. This is not a common tour and the island, even though it has great historical value, it preserves it's rustic roots and doesn't have a touristic structure. If you have mobility difficulties, please let us know, and we'll tell you all about our private tour.
Please don't underestimate when we say we are really going to be walking and biking a lot!
This is our "Disneyland"of sorts. You will be tired but feel rewarded for sure. Did I mention we will walk and bike a lot?? I mean it!!!
